Esgul Champion Festival 2025: A Platform for Developing Universitas Esa Unggul Students’ Athletic Talent and Sportsmanship
In the spirit of realizing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 – Good Health and Well-being, Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) is once again holding its annual event, the Esgul Champion Festival 2025, a sports and creativity festival that serves as a platform for developing the potential and fitness of students.
One of the festival’s flagship activities is an inter-faculty basketball competition, which has successfully attracted high enthusiasm from students in various departments. Held at the UEU Sport Field, the matches were lively, with full support from the audience and fellow students who cheered on the teams throughout the competition.
Student Sportsmanship and Collaboration Event
The Esgul Champion Festival is not just a competition, but also a forum for character building and sportsmanship among the academic community. The basketball competition symbolizes teamwork, discipline, and fighting spirit values that are in line with the philosophy of Universitas Esa Unggul in shaping graduates who are healthy, creative, and globally competitive.
In addition to basketball, the festival also featured various other sports competitions such as futsal, volleyball, and e-sports, as well as non-sports activities such as art competitions and student bazaars. All activities were carried out with environmentally friendly principles and involved various student activity units in their implementation.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Esa Unggul, Dr. Ir. Arief Kusuma Among Praja, S.T., M.B.A., IPU, ASEAN Eng., emphasized that activities such as the Esgul Champion Festival are part of UEU’s commitment to realizing a healthy and globally competitive campus.
“The Esgul Champion Festival reflects the spirit of a healthy, creative, and collaborative campus. Through this activity, we not only foster sports skills, but also instill the values of leadership, teamwork, and fighting spirit that will be useful in the professional world,” he explained.
The week-long event was closed with a ceremony to award the Esgul Champion trophy to the faculties that achieved the best results. The closing ceremony featured student music performances and fun games that strengthened the sense of togetherness among the campus community.
Through the Esgul Champion Festival, Universitas Esa Unggul continues to reinforce its position as a campus that not only focuses on academic excellence but also on the balance between intellectuality, health, and character, in line with its vision as a Smart, Creative, and Entrepreneurial University powered by Arizona State University.
