Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) was founded by the Kemala Bangsa Education Foundation, following the issuance of the Minister of Education and Culture’s Decree No. 107/DO/1993, dated January 10, 1986, in Jakarta. The university’s inception was motivated by a strong commitment to contribute actively to the advancement of national education, in accordance with the principles outlined in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution.

UEU is a prominent private institution in Indonesia, recognized for its dedication to offering top-notch and relevant education. The university comprises three campuses: Kebon Jeruk (KJ) located in West Jakarta, Harapan Indah (KHI) in Bekasi, Eastern Jakarta, and Citra Raya (KCR) situated in Tangerang, Western Jakarta.

What distinguishes UEU is its forward-thinking and distinctive academic offerings, which respond to emerging trends both within Indonesia and globally. It was the pioneering university in the nation to introduce the Academy of Medical Records and the Applied Bachelor of Physiotherapy programs. The university provides specialized courses in creative industries, digital business, and entrepreneurship, all aimed at equipping students with practical abilities and adaptability for an ever-evolving world. By prioritizing innovation, digital education, and sustainability through green campus initiatives, UEU creates a setting that nurtures students’ critical thinking, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset. Additionally, UEU applied inclusive program for dissabilities to sustain the lifelong learning such as Distance Learning (PJJ program) and Recognition of Prior Program (RPL program) among underrepresenting groups. The academic and research programs are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals which is focused on good health and wellbeing, quality of education and reduce in equalities research. In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UEU have established collaborative partnerships with several countries, with primary funding support originating from the United Kingdom, United States, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Timor Leste, Philipines, China, and Taiwan.
